Kerala Fish Curry

Fish is the rich source of Vitamin A which is essential to keep your vision perfect and your perfect vision is what I wish for my blog Foody Blogger. Fish can be prepared in thousands of style especially in a country like India where every city has its own style of cooking. So today let's make fish in Kerala style.

Ingredients for fish curry

Mustard seeds     - 1 tablespoon
Cumin seeds        - 1 tablespoon
Fenugreek seeds  - 1/2 tablespoon
Pepper corns        - 1/2 tablespoon
Coconut grated    - 2 tablespoon
Onions sliced       - 1 cup
Tomatoes diced   - 2 cups
Ginger                 - 3 chunks
Garlic cloves       - 5
Green Chillies     - 2-3
Fish                     - 500 gram
Turmeric powder
Red Chilli powder
Curry leaves
Tamarind juice    - 3-5 tablespoons
Salt to taste

Fish Masala

1)   Roast mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, coriander seeds on medium flame.

2)   Grind it, Fish masala is ready.


1) Heat coconut oil and add garlic cloves, ginger cubes, green chillies, onions, tomatoes, curry leaves and saute them.

2) Add turmeric salt and the freshly prepared fish masala.

3) Saute them till they become soft and light in color.

4) Grind it with grated coconut and make a paste by adding little water.

5) Heat coconut oil and add mustard seeds and the above-mentioned paste.

6) Add water, salt , red chilli powder , tamarind juice and fish meat.

7) Put the lid and let it cook for 20 minutes on medium flame.

8)  After the fish is cooked, add thick coconut milk, stir it and put lid for another 5 minutes.

9) Garnish it with curry leaves.
